We should celebrate life much more often. And not wait for a reason to do so. Don’t save the silverware for someday. Don’t let the suit rot in the wardrobe. Wear the dress, dare to go out and just be yourself.
At our Hotel Tirolensis you will not only learn how to holiday, but also how to celebrate life.
All real life is encounter.
– Martin Buber
There are great hosts. And then there is us, the Oberrauchs. A small difference, because once you’ve spent your holiday with us, we will have a place in your big heart.
Manfred, the Social One
… his charismatic nature and charm, you can simply not resist. Manni, as he may also be called, has a few talents: With his cooking, he makes your taste buds cheer, with his insider golf tips he lowers handicaps, and the guided hikes and activities? They become a real experience with him!
Just like a proper entertainer.
Helga, the Sunny Soul
… and the soul of the house. This one special feeling that our guests get when they enter the Tirolensis – this warmth and well-being from the very first moment – thanks to Helga. With her attention to detail, her individual touch and the constant smile on her lips, she creates a very special atmosphere. Even problems don’t bother her, which is why she is our problem solver and always there when you need her.
Catherina, the Happy One
… knows alle the best spots – with her insider tips about unique experiences and exciting day trips in the Merano region, our guests are always in good hands. Not only does she always create a good atmosphere with her big heart, but also with her own liqueur creation, pine gold.
Peter, the Cheerful One
… with the licence to kill… thirst. Who needs a fairy godmother when you know Peter who can fulfil just about any wish at the bar? With his cocktail creations, he easily mixes his way into the hearts of his guests. But he also serves – and (importantly) refills – regulars, apéritifs, digestifs and fine wines. From time to time, you’ll also find him at the reception desk, where he sparks enthusiasm with his courteous and open manner.
Vanessa, the attentive one
… always keeps an eye on the service.
With her open, warm and charismatic style, she wins a smile from every guest. Quick as the wind, she fulfils almost every holiday wish.
When host Manni fires up the barbecue and prepares his special kaiserschmarrn, you can lean back and enjoy all this with a panoramic mountain view. And everything else becomes secondary. Once a week, depending on the weather, we hike to the hotel’s own alp Falkenau in the Merano 2000 hiking area. The hut, which is already over 100 years old, is popularly known as the “ghost hut*”.
*But don’t worry! If so, ghosts can only be found in the schnapps glasses.

For some, they are a piece of living history. For others, they are the epitome of the original driving experience. Pure nostalgia. They are cult cars, timeless classics, and have a place in the hearts of many classic car lovers. While elsewhere people are betting on gold bars, at Tirolensis we have real garage gold: host Peter can call a Dodge Aspen his own.
Do you fancy a little winery sightseeing tour including a tasting with host Peter?
The route is set: along the wine route from Eppan to Nals, stopping at Peter’s favourite vintners. Two to three people will also be lucky enough to ride in the Dodge Aspen. A maximum of 12 people can take part in the tour.
“Those who can enjoy no longer drink wine, but taste secrets”, Salvador Dalí already knew. Our wine journey takes us to the origin. Enjoying wine, diving into the heart of South Tyrolean viticulture, exploring unique cellar catacombs and discovering where it all began: to the vineyards, to the grapevine and the oldest vine in the world. Ready to uncover secrets? Then you shouldn’t miss our wine weeks …
When you are at the Tirolensis and hear lively sounds, it can only mean one thing: live music at its best and fun entertainment. Because at dinner, not only the taste buds will benefit, but also your ears. Pssst! For those who still haven’t had enough, we are happy to open our Almstüberl once or twice a week.
